  It's been a while, so please forgive me, I have forgotten how to quote others comments in my reply.

  Newly Enlightened, for the record, I care more about Kim Silvio and her specific reason for her issue with Mark O'Donnell, which is why I asked her directly, but I guess since you offered up your reason, I'll engage. Seriously, is that it? So he called you crazy and simple people who don't understand how congregations conduct business. That's enough to negate the work he's done and take issue with him? I mean, I guess I can see you guys having a problem with that, but I gotta say I agree with him in his characterization of you. So, in my book, that does nothing to tarnish his reputation. What else you got?

  Been lurking for a while, watching this soap-opera play out. Gotta say, from my perspective, most everyone is an asshole here (the players in this situation, not the commenting bystanders). Lloyd definitely being the biggest a hole of all, but Kim and Mikey, you're shit stinks in all this too...

  You all seem keen on calling Lloyd on his BS. But you tolerate Kim and Mikey. Why? They have made some serious allegations, or at the very least facilitated allegations. How do you just walk away from that?

  but it's not what it means today.. even wedding veils were used to ward off the "evil eye".

  Yes, I always felt that since birthdays were mentioned in the bible, but the mention only being incidental, meant that birthdays were common place, and incidentally, in these two instances, spanning hundreds of years, two twisted individuals used the occasion to murder. So what about all the other millions of birthdays (during that time period) not mentioned in the bible? And, what is a childs birthday, if not the ultimate celebration of the union of marriage?

  Exactly cofty. You wanna be an idiot and kill yourself, fine. But I don't want you taking me out or my loved ones, or any innocent party, for that matter. To be texting on your cell phone, while driving, is to just not give a shit about anyones life. So many different opinions about talking on your cell while driving, but we'd all be safer if everyone focused on their driving and left the phone calls until they were home, using a chainsaw or meat slicer, or curling iron...

  ANYTHING, that takes your mind of of the task at hand, is a distraction. A conversation is a distraction. Too distracting to drive? I would argue not. Usually. But it can be, if you, as the driver allow it to be. A heated conversation could easily become to distracting, for example.

  Some studies show that some music can help with focus, while others show it to be a distraction. I believe this all to be subjective, and personally find some music to be distracting while driving, while other music actually helps center and focus me while driving. Your results may vary.

  Arguably, conversation and music can be a distraction, but generally not enough to detract from the focus we need to drive. Texting, or using a hand held device for social media or surfing the net, is a distraction that will interfere with our ability to operate a vehicle.
